The Saint Lauren Shakeup

April 20, 2016

Hedi Slimane’s second exit from the maison of Yves Saint Laurent meant two things: the end of the LA-infused, glam rock cool he proposed for the house and the beginning of a new regime, to be headed by Anthony Vaccarello. The Belgian-Italian designer started with a clean slate, and he did just that at the Instagram page of @YSL: a portrait of him, and nothing else. Whatever this means, I’m definitely ready for a smokin’ sexy Saint Laurent.

2. FALL 2016

Bringing in the drama! So many designers looked back to the 80’s for inspiration but Hedi did his in absolute couture perfection.

The start of the flannel, babydoll dress, and ripped-everything craze that had everybody coveting…and shaking their heads. This collection screamed IDGAF.

5. FALL 2015

The collection that sent out disco dresses that I’ve been lusting for basically forever. No one can throw a party like Hedi does.

Namedropping much? This is the collection that solidified Anthony’s industry status.

3. FALL 2015

A total starstudded collection was too hard not to be one of my faves. Legit cute… but with va-va-voom raciness.

4. SPRING 2016

Dresses and shirts with Anja Rubik’s face in it? Too in-your-face? Nah, I’m SOLD!

5. FALL 2013

Sleek and totally unexpected. Rendered in Anthony’s signature asymmetric cuts, even the basic shirtdress gets sensual with Vaccarello’s touch.

I swear, if there’s one person who’s too excited for the new YSL, it’s me. Sooo can’t wait for October during Paris Fashion Week Spring/Summer 2017 for Anthony Vaccarello’s first collection for the house!
