My LA Photo Diary + A BTS look at My Preview Cover Shoot
After giving you glimpses into my #PreviewInLA experience via Instagram and Snapchat, here’s a fuller scope of what I got into over there.
I had the most amazing time shooting the cover story for Preview as I was joined by my loves Vince, BJ, and Preview’s Associate Fashion Editor Loris Peña. We were totally smitten (and sun-kissed!) by the West Coast lifestyle: the laidback energy, the cool style on the streets, the modern art, the scenic beaches—it all adds up to LA’s vibe. Oh, and a delicious selection of organic cafés, detox and juice bars, and brunch spots (avo errday!) are scattered all over the area. What more does one need?
Total coziness withdrawal: A view from SIXTY Hotel’s rooftop pool area.
The cure is in the cut-outs AKA how I survived the heat wave. Wearing Thomas Tait’s cut-out pleated-cuff crepe top, Le Panel midi denim skirt from Frame, Mayfair court shoes from Kurt Geiger, and YSL round sunnies. Also, J.W. Anderson’s Pierce bag is legitimately awesome.
Take two. In a gingham ruffled top and skirt from J.W. Anderson and Ancient Greek Sandals with Peter Pilotto Thais
Art Rock: Michael Heizer’s “Levitated Mass” at the Los Angeles County Museum of Art (LACMA). Not seen: A touristy shot featuring me. LOL!
Dropped by Aimee’s shoot! I bet you this girl’s a posing pro #legit
Shoot day and I’m heat wave ready! Good thing I was with Vince and Beej. No amount of heat could stop me from posing LOL! Here at the LACMA’s Urban Light installation by Chris Burden wearing a One Armed Bandit top from Rosie Assoulin, J.W. Anderson gingham ruffled skirt, and Mayfair court shoes from Kurt Geiger.
The view from LACMA’s second floor.
Hollywood betta watch out! Of course we had to do a take in the Hollywood Hills. Being all bananas in my Dolce & Gabbana bag and banana leaf-print dress, Impatiens flower drop earrings, and Kurt Geiger Siene shoes
This is me giving you a lesson on How Not to Survive a Heat Wave. Wearing a Thomas Tait patchwork denim jacket and high rise flared trousers.
The towering palm trees at the Santa Anita racetrack look sort of unreal IRL.
I am Pure… no really, that’s what I ordered at Café Gratitude! Good vibes guaranteed here.
Blocking in my ALC tee and maxi skirt, Thom Browne aviators, Rochas crossbody bag, and Jen slides from Dear Frances
Same lewk, different location. This time outside Milk in Beverly Boulevard.
If fast-food favorites went the healthier route: Fresh burrata pizza (San marzano tomatoes, baby kale, sage, and dollops of fresh burrata) and burger at Faith and Flower.
Walling in the Cabana dress from Elle Sasson, Acne jeans, Rochas crossbody bag, and Ancient Greek sandals.
Classic Cali. Wearing an Elle Sasson ensemble and Thom Browne aviators. Yaaas girl, layering is possible!
Los Angeles, your street cred is real. Reminiscing about this trip makes me want to come back, stat. Grab your copy (or copies, because Aimee Song is on the cover too!) of Preview’s July ish to see more photos!
